Myrtle Beach Corvette Club donates to local charities.

The Myrtle Beach Corvette Club (MBCC) recently presented checks to two local non-profit charities which the club supports. Proceeds from their 28th Annual Corvettes at the Beach are used to make these contributions possible. The donations went to Canine Angels where rescued dogs are trained as service dogs to assist disabled veterans, autistic children and first responders and Julie’s Kids which provides for children in foster care.

2025 was a record year for the club donations to charity. Checks were presented in the amount of $15,260 to each charity. Through its annual car show, the club has raised over $240,000 over the past 10 years. The Myrtle Beach Corvette Club covers Brunswick County in North Carolina; Horry and Georgetown counties in South Carolina with over 300 club members between the three counties.

2026 Charity Update

Thank you all for voting on our 2026 charities either by email or at the November meeting. There were a variety of charities nominated by members and all are in need of support. If your charity was not selected this year, please nominate them again next year. I already have an organization nominated for 2027!

The club has selected Hope Harbor Home. They are the only domestic violence program and shelter in Brunswick County, NC, and the facility is actually closer to Horry County residents than the next closest shelter, which is in Georgetown County. They operate a 24 hour crisis hotline, provide safe shelter, advocacy and education. This organization also runs area Thrift Stores. The monies will be used towards the construction of a new domestic violence shelter.

Additionally, we welcome back for a second year, Canine Angels out of Little River, SC. Rescue dogs are rehabilitated and trained to become service dogs. The dogs are then placed with disabled veterans, children with autism and first responders with PTSD to name a few recipients .Our monies will go toward training the dogs.

We have two wonderful charities to work with in the coming year.

Thanks again,

Debra Labruna
